Palembang City is one of the city and is also the capital of South Sumatra province. Palembang is the second largest city in Sumatra after Medan.
Palembang city is also nicknamed the Venice of the East, based on inscriptions found in Bukit Kedukan Siguntang Hill west of Palembang, which declared the establishment of a Wanua is interpreted as a city on 16 June 682 AD, later used as a benchmark birthday of the city of Palembang.
History

ADIPURA five successive FOR CITY PALEMBANG
Palembang city Adipura managed to get an award for the fifth time in a row. Adipura award was presented directly by the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono H to H Palembang mayor Eddy Santana Putra at the State Palace on Tuesday (06/07/2011) morning.
